Vintage Quilt
This is a beautiful vintage Australian Quilt that I bought many years ago in Geelong. It is made with a combination of 1930's ish fabrics and plain fabrics.
Effie has drawn up the pattern and instructions by hand and we have a kit available at Patchwork on Central Park.

Liberty Love
As anyone who knows Patchwork on Central Park, we have a huge range of Liberty of London fabrics. I have been meaning to make up another Birdsong quilt for the shop as I sold both of the samples.
We have the pattern available in the shop and give it away free if you get the fabrics from us.
These are the fabrics I have chosen. I just love them together and am starting cutting up tonight.
For anyone who needs a class I run one on the first Saturday of the month. It goes for two hours and you are welcome to sit and sew the rest of the afternoon in the classroom.

Scarfing
I still love a scarf so today had a bit of a play with the silk ribbon we have, and the new Liberty binding.
We have scarf lengths of all the voile's cut and ready to go in two metre lengths by half the width of the fabric, just the right length to wrap around and tie.
Funny though how when you start to do something a certain cat needs to lay down on what you are doing.
At the moment I can't stop playing the mega talented Aussie singer Lisa Mitchell (ignore the first little bit) Emma bought her album "Wonder" for me for Mothers day and I love it. It makes me smile.

Desiderata
Today I went into a cafe that was really full, there were two women my age (babyboomers) sitting at a table for four.
Their bags were on the seats beside them, taking up the spare spaces. I politely asked if we could use the spare table and chairs. I was shocked by the answer given by of one of them. She indicated that the space was taken. By their bags!
Luckily my faith in women was restored by the other who said sure and moved her bag, I thanked her. The original women still protesting moved her bag and we sat down.
This made me stop and think of the old song and Poster that was everywhere (including toilet walls) in the 70's. I think it is a great reminder to be decent.
Have a good Weekend. Lynn

Urgent Call to Help Pass it On
For everyone that loves Melbourne it is time we started to speak up against the destruction of our Heritage! Beautiful old buildings are there one day and gone the next.
Lara is appealing for everyone to quickly protest against the destruction of this iconic building. Please help and pass it on.
Otherwise we will end up with a city that looks and feels like the Docklands. No soul!

Meanwhile the Sale clearance fabrics are still in abundance. It is a bit like a Magic Pudding. The more you sell the more there is.
While reading the Design Files today I came across their guest bloggers site. Just loved her simple quilt and thought you may too. Can't beat a simple shirting quilt.
