Melbourne Day Out

Visited the fabulous Vienna exhibition at the NGV today and felt like a tourist while walking around the city, loved the laneways, loved the floors in Block Arcade and especially loved the Missoni in Myers.
Forgot my camera so iphone photo's have to suffice.

Best Kept Secret

We are very fortunate in our little strip to have so many great cafe's.
Today Geoff and I had a late breakfast at Chaucer Cellars, it is run by Tommie (husband of one of our lovely customers Sue) Tommie is the son of our delightful Ange and Mary from the fruit shop(in our strip).
Anyway is is such a great cafe and has a really European feel, everything is home cooked, and they do a huge breakfast all day as well as other food, the linguini I had was delicious. They have also have a small deli at the back for take away.
The food is just fabulous, so next time you come to Patchwork go over and sample the melt in the mouth Muffins they do with great coffee (you do need to be early for the muffins though.)
It is such a secret little place I had to share it.

New Fabric Detail

It has been such a busy week, so many new projects being started, it is lovely to see what customers choose and even nicer when we get to see the finished quilts.
I had my camera with me so got to take a photo of this great Birdsong quilt that was being made for a teenage daughter.
It turned out lovely.

Nani Iro

Today the new shipment arrived of the newest range from the talented Japanese designer Naomi Ito who is the designer behind Nani Iro fabric (which I have been told roughly translates to "subtle shades." )
The fabrics come in a variety of ways from the beautiful double muslins, jerseys and Linen Cotton blend for the larger designs. I can't wait to have something made with them, it will make me feel like Summer is on it's way.
The narrow jerseys are just perfect for baby wraps and she has done a star design for this very purpose.

Liberty Arrival

We are always glad to see Gordon coming through the door, especially when he has the latest seasonals in his arms.
Sixty two new fabrics in fact! Winter seasonals and gorgeous new Liberty classics including a few of our sold out favourites.
