This is one of the easy ripped quilts we do at Patchwork (sorry the photo isn't great). It is made using 9 x 1/2 metre of fabrics and 1 fat 1/4 for the centre. You rip each piece in half across the width of the fabric (about 9 1/2") and sew it like a log cabin block. Trimming off as you go.
The basic formula is stick to about 3 main colours when choosing fabrics. (don't try to match shades) and use a variety of scale fabrics.
I added a couple of vintage fabrics to this quilt.
I decide the colours to put together as I go, using a design wall or laying out on the floor.
It was then sent to the machine quilter and crosshatch quilted, then bound.

My very favourite poster by the talented Shannon Lamden from Auntie Cookie. (sorry I don't know how to link yet so do a google)

Markets

Yesterday I had my weekly outing to a local market. The diversity of the Wantirna Market is wonderful. Sometimes you get a bargain and other times you get nothing.
The plants and fruit and veg (some grown by the locals) are always colourful cheap and fresh.

More Scarfing

At the moment I am in love with linen. (I think i have already told you all this, I tend to repeat myself as am now over 50)
This photo was taken by Marie, the scarf is made from the gorgeous linen gauze we have at Patchwork in the natural linen colour. They are the easiest scarves to make. This one has machine stitching around the edge and linen insert lace along the edge.
I think it took all of 5 minutes to make. When washed in hot water and put into the dryer it softens and wrinkles up.

masako quilt top

This lovely quilt top has been made by Effie with beautiful japanese fabrics and some other pretty prints. The reflections in the shop window add an extra dimension which seem to suit this top! There will be a class this semester for anyone interested in making this quilt top. It is suitable for beginners. posted by kbc

Pickle Dish Quilt made in Adrienne's class by Glenis. (hiding behind)
The members of this class make the most beautiful quilts, I will will continue to show and tell over the next few months.

This has always been my very favorite quilt made by Adrienne Armstrong. The detail in this quilt is amazing.
Adrienne even has a colour named after her. Being this wonderful red she is so fond of.
The quilts made in Adrienne's class are truly
quilts to inspire you.
