Photo

Try again? I may eventually work this out!
Here it is finally.

Market Find

One thing I have always loved about Melbourne is the market culture. Sunday morning is not complete without a wander around one of the many markets here.
My favourite being Camberwell . The colours in this old embroidery are lovely and the birds just said buy me! $2 well spent.

Shop Photo's

Me again! It took so long to load the other photo's I have put this on separately. This is a copy of one of our customer's, Emma's 1950's dress. Made in the perennial classic, Liberty rose fabric. Also some more linen scarves.
Well I worked out how to put the photo's on! (Cancel that order for the 5 year old)
I just loved the top of Empire Vintage's shop and was really glad that the old signage has been left, and the red lanterns in the street tree outside the cafe added some wonderful colour to an otherwise bare tree. (I did wonder how they got them there though)
Albert Park is one of my favourite destinations when I have a day off. Great shops and cafe's. So many to choose from.

New Camera

The new camera has arrived and is great. (thanks for the recomendation from Lara Cameron) a Canon G10.
But! I am having trouble loading the photo's. I will ask an expert (has anyone got a spare 5 year old)
Keep you posted!

scarfing

Last night I had a bit of fun creating this great scarf.
I am in love with linen! It's made using a beautiful pure linen gauze with circles of Liberty fabric sewn on, then washed in hot water and put in the dryer to get that wrinkled look. Voila!
I have also been a fan of Japanese craft books for about four years. A lovely customer introduced them to me. I am excited that the publishers have started to translate some of them. This is one of my favourites. The photography and styling is inspirational. I have a few copies left I am taking to the Sydney Quilt Fair.

Well I did it! Who said an old dog can't learn new tricks!
This is a beautiful old hand embroidered piece I found at the market and thought I would share.
The colours are very subtle. It would be a great pallet for a new quilt.
I will get together some fabrics when I get back from the Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair and do a show and tell.
I also decided I need a new camera. I am in awe of some of the photo's I see on blogs.

Welcome

Welcome to my new blog! It has taken me a long time. I confess to being just a "lurker"
I hope to fill this blog with inspirational projects and just random stuff. I just have to learn how to put photo's on now!
