Last Post until Feb

This is my last post for this year and probably until Feb as I am sure everyone has better things to do in Summer than look at my blog.
Mum will be spending January with me and I will be filling in at Patchwork quite a bit until everyone else is back from holidays.
This will give me a great opportunity to catch up on all the things I have been planning. So win win.
Thank you all for reading my blog and making the occasional comments. I do get a lot of support in the shop for the blog. It's funny I sometimes think I won't do this any more then someone makes a random comment to me in the shop and it makes me think that yes I do have a few people that actually read this blog.so good excuse to keep prattling on.
Well I hope you all have a safe and Happy Christmas and enjoy the Summer holidays.
I will leave you with photo's of a blast from the past when people wrote on paper, sent out Christmas cards and kept record of who sent them back. (thanks to Adrienne for this cute book)
A Christmas wish from Emma, can't remember what year this was from but somewhere in the 80's and lastly a photo of me on Christmas day a long time ago with my present of a bride doll.
Can't believe I have the same hairstyle!
So thanks again for all your support we wouldn't have a shop without customers and thanks to my wonderful staff, who always give such fabulous service and friendship to everyone. Looking forward to a good year next year. See you then.
Lynn
p.s. don't forget we are closed at 4 tomorrow until the 3rd of January.

Echino New Designs Just Arrived

Being the huge fan of Echino, I am excited that the new range has just landed on our doorstep.
Along with the full range of Kaffe Fassett shot cottons and Kaffe's gorgeous ribbons.
I have decided to start the new year with a new quilt from this fabric range and adding in some of the shot cottons, which match perfectly. My sketchbook will be having a bit of a workout on my days off.
Don't forget we will be closed from 4pm on Friday the 23rd December until 10 am on the 3rd of January.

Havest Textile Christmas Market

Ticket Giveaway - Albert Nobbs

From director Rodrigo Garcia (Mother and Child) Albert Nobbs is a witty period drama about the lives of staff at one of Dublin's most luxurious hotels - Morrison's - and the hotel's butler, Albert Nobbs... a woman who disguises herself as a man to survive. 19th Century Ireland: for a woman to be independent and single, she must deceive everyone - by passing as a man. Albert, a shy butler who keeps himself to himself, has been hiding a deep secret for some thirty years - ‘he' is a woman who has had to dress and behave as a man in order to escape a life of poverty and loneliness. As Albert Nobbs begins to question the world she has created for herself, and thinks she may have found a soul-mate, she dares to hope that she might one day live a life free of secrets. Glenn Close stars in the title role of Albert, an award-winning role she played on stage more than twenty years ago. Close puts in a remarkable, heart-rending performance as the complex character and pulls off an incredible transformation. Albert Nobbs is a wonderful drama full of humour, pathos and tenderness.

In cinemas December 26th.

We are excited to announce a special ticket giveaway for our Patchwork on Central Park blog regulars! The first 5 people to email us at patchpark@bigpond.com will win a free double pass thanks to Hopscotch films, valid from January 12 in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and ACT.

Ribbon Embroidery Necklaces

Saw these on this gorgeous blog I just found and it reminded me of a past craft I used to teach. Almost makes me want to revive the craft of ribbon embroidery.

Scarlet Jones

Just finished a market with Scarlet Jones and will be bring some of the lovely sarongs over to Patchwork, so many people loved the fabric I thought they would probaly be well sought after to be cut up and add that extra zing to a quilt.
