Last Post until Feb

This is my last post for this year and probably until Feb as I am sure everyone has better things to do in Summer than look at my blog.
Mum will be spending January with me and I will be filling in at Patchwork quite a bit until everyone else is back from holidays.
This will give me a great opportunity to catch up on all the things I have been planning. So win win.
Thank you all for reading my blog and making the occasional comments. I do get a lot of support in the shop for the blog. It's funny I sometimes think I won't do this any more then someone makes a random comment to me in the shop and it makes me think that yes I do have a few people that actually read this blog.so good excuse to keep prattling on.
Well I hope you all have a safe and Happy Christmas and enjoy the Summer holidays.

Echino New Designs Just Arrived

Being the huge fan of Echino, I am excited that the new range has just landed on our doorstep.
Along with the full range of Kaffe Fassett shot cottons and Kaffe's gorgeous ribbons.
I have decided to start the new year with a new quilt from this fabric range and adding in some of the shot cottons, which match perfectly. My sketchbook will be having a bit of a workout on my days off.
Don't forget we will be closed from 4pm on Friday the 23rd December until 10 am on the 3rd of January.

Havest Textile Christmas Market

Well Lara, Emma and Jess from Harvest Textiles certainly know how to put on a good market. So many talented young people in one space with the most gorgeous wares. It was such a well curated Market with so many wonderful products and a huge turnout. I was so glad to be there.

Christmas Trading

Christmas is nearly here and I am being asked what our trading hours will be. So here they are.
This week will be our last Sunday opening until February 2012.
We are closing at 5pm next Friday the 23rd and re opening at 10am on the 3rd of January 2012

We have large rolls of this bakers twine in the shop or it is also sold by the metre. Found this on Pinterest, sorry it's so small.

Ribbon Embroidery Necklaces

Saw these on this gorgeous blog I just found and it reminded me of a past craft I used to teach. Almost makes me want to revive the craft of ribbon embroidery.

Scarlet Jones

Just finished a market with Scarlet Jones and will be bring some of the lovely sarongs over to Patchwork, so many people loved the fabric I thought they would probaly be well sought after to be cut up and add that extra zing to a quilt.

Harvest Christmas Market

We are excited to be a part of Harvest Textiles annual Christmas market on Sunday the 18th of December!
There is a great line up including some of our favorite local creatives such as Stampel, Sunday morning designs and Beci Orpin, plus many more.

Dolls

There is something about dolls that I still like, found these on Pinterest and loved them.

Gift Idea

We have just cut long metres (two metres divided down the length of the fabric) of the beautiful voiles we have in stock in preparation for scarves, you can make one wider scarf or two narrow scarves from these lengths of two metres. They are just perfect for summer and so light and soft.

Sophie Digard at Scarlet Jones

Just arrived in Scarlet Jones new Sophie Digard scarves and necklaces. Just in time for Christmas.

Subway Walls

Many people who visit NY do not use the Subway but it is a fabulous way to get around this city. The mosaics and sculptures are also worth looking at. These were some of my favourites.

Market Finds

Came across this wool embroidery yesterday and it reminded me of what my Nana made. I love the bold colours on the black background. I will make it into a cushion for my couch.

New Fabrics and Cushions

These are a few of the many new fabrics that arrived while I was away. Also a photo of some of the cushions Effie has made for the shop. They are available for purchase for $75 or you can make them yourself for around $15 (no insert, we do stock great feather and foam inserts if required) Cushions make a great pressie and are quick and easy to make. The Tram roll squares are also available in Black and White or Red and White for $10 each.
