I was once called the cut and paste Queen, due to the fact that I love Vlisofix. It is so easy and quick to use and gives a great effect. These are the pics of what i did last night. I am still deciding placement but so far am pretty happy with the look. It got the tick of approval from Sid.
Anyone who has driven past in the last couple of days will have seen the wonderful Butterfly and Animal fabrics that are in the window. They are large scale prints and I am going to make a quilt with the butterfly one, appliqueing the individual butterfly's of choice onto a scrappy background. These are the fabrics I have chosen to go together.
I have always been a bit partial to kitch, so when I saw this old glass fruit for $5 I couldn't walk past. I know, I know I am trying to de clutter but am getting bored with no cute stuff around.
Dental Floss is not only for teeth. It is fabulous to use when making a ruffle. Just do a large zig zag stitch over it and pull up the ruffle when you are finished. Pictures tell a thousand words.
Yesterday Geoff and I had a day Antiquing in and around Geelong, my favourite was the Mill Market on the Bellarine Hwy on the way to Queenscliff. We finished the day by putting our car on the ferry to Sorento. It was just like a mini holiday, really good for the soul.
Yesterday I finally finished my Liberty Quilt I had ripped up the other day, I have made a variation of the Birdsong quilt. Now to choose a back and send it off to the quilter. I would love to hand quilt it but am pretty slow and want it in the shop quickly.
Today I have been playing with and making scarves from linen to put into Scarlet Jones. I have hemmed the side edges and I used the Rit dye in Fuchsia and black to dye them. I am also overdying stained and bright, gaudy old scarves, these are the results.
