Quilts

Love the simplicity in this design.

Unfortunately there was a fold in this photo but I still thought it was worth putting on as it is a great design and so easy.

New Pillows

old lino

After getting my new slip covers I decided to get rid of my pillows so am now deciding on what to make to replace them. I loved the bottom two from Anthropologie and may make my own versions using Liberty or may make floral ones using these lino designs. I am leaning towards black background at the moment.

Zina de Plagny

These images are from a World of Interiors article about Zina de Plagny. Apparently her daughter found all her archive of work she had used at her atelier in 2000 after she had died. Her daughter has re opened her atelier and is re printing some of her designs and collaborating with different makers to re introduce these designs.
There was an exhibition in 2010. Anyone out there from Bendigo Museum this would be an awesome exhibition.
I love the boldness of her designs and find them so inspiring.

Inspiration

Magazines are something that I never get sick of. Even though there are beautiful images on the net nothing beats sitting down with a cuppa and a magazine.
So while I am stuck home it gives me a chance to go through old ones and sort and get rid of most of them. (like pulling teeth) I found these images and thought I would share.

White Linen

Anyone that comes in to the store knows how much I love Linen! especially white linen. I have recently had slip covers made for my couch in beautiful heavy white French linen that we stock and they turned out fabulous. We have a contact that will measure and make that we highly recommend.
Come and check out our range as we have just got a new shipment of linens from France.
Meanwhile these images are from one of my favourite blogs Paper mulberry
check it out for more inspirational images.

Artists I Love

Christina Gordon Cards
Harlequin Ribbon
Paula Mills

I have been a fan of Christina for many years now and was glad to see she has cards with her art for sale now. She is a multi talented woman from Melbourne and I am lucky to have some of her original art above my fireplace. it is so quirky and I never get sick of looking at them.
Another of my favourite's is Paula Mills, Paula is a wonderful artist and has a variety of different projects on the go at one time including cards. She also has a great blog.

Just popped in to Patchwork for 5 mins and there is a huge amount of new fabrics, these are some of them. Including lots of new Nano Iro.

Bower bird beads
New scarves just arrived at scarlet jones

I'm feeling a little stir crazy today, you know I always wished I could just stay home and do nothing, but in reality it's not that great. Anyway as I have no new photo's I have posted a few totally random ones that i like.

Classes

Kate's gorgeous grandchildren under hand pieced and quilted patchwork quilts she made.
Angie's hand patchwork Liberty Circles Quilt
Effies Last Split nine patch appliqued quilt.

Kathy's machine sampler class.

We have been surprised by the resurgence of demand for classes here at Patchwork this year. For the last couple of years the demand has not been there due to tutorials etc. but I think everyone is starting to discover the joys of attending classes. Where else can you connect with like minded people from such a diverse demographic? and discuss a huge variety of topics while learning a skill.
I myself have always attended the odd class at a variety of locations, it gives my creativity a boost and I find it money well spent. There is nothing like hands on tuition to help learn a new skilland re inspire you.
Over the next few weeks I will put up some photo's of classes we offer this term, here are a few today.

Effie is beginning her Sleeping Beauty quilt class this week and there are a couple of places available. It teaches you basic applique and piecing skills, great for getting started in hand Patchwork, I only have a photo of her last version but this one is same but different applique design, same quilt design.
