Whenever I say I have been to "Friends of Mine" I am usually asked where do they live? But it is actually a cafe in Swan St Richmond and is one of my favourite cafe's.
They currently have an exhibition of Christina Gordon's artwork which goes to show Melbourne is a small world.
Friends of Mine has great food, especially breakfast, really good service and exceptionally nice staff with an eclectic mix of customers and not only Hipsters.
It is one of three cafe's run by dynamic guys Theo and Jason. I am in awe of these guys as everything they do is fabulous including the interiors.
The latest project, is their foray into fashion down the street from Scarlet Jones and is called Swoon.
Their other two cafe's are Porgies and Mr Jones in Auburn Rd and Snowpony in Box Hill. These are equally as good.
Thanks to all that wrote comments on the Lotta post. The winners are
Jo, Lisa and Sandra.
Just email me at patchpark@bigpond.com with your address.
Have a lovely weekend. Lynn

LOTTA JANSDOTTER GIVEAWAY
Lotta's new fabric has just arrived in Patchwork, I was beginning to give up hope that it would actually arrive as it was short supplied and is now sold out from the supplier. Unfortunately I got half of what I ordered.
Lotta is a screen printer and fabric designer that is originally from Scandinavia but is now living and working in Brooklyn NY she has a studio and store there. She has been doing it for quite some time now, we also had her linen range from Kokka many years ago that was also fabulous.
I have a couple of small giveaways so leave a comment and you may be lucky and win one. One is a mini softie kit and another is a sample pack of her fabrics.
Meanwhile if you would like some of this fabric don't wait too long to come in as it is walking out the door.

RANDOM FLOTSUM & JETSAM
I am the kind of person that puts off stuff and finally they come home to roost. A couple of months ago I decided to clean up and put all the random crap that was lying around into a box to sort out later. This box got shifted around several times until I realized I needed something in it.
So last night I sat and sorted. While I didn't find what I was looking for I came across this card that sat at Patchwork for ages waiting for its owner to remember where she left it.
It was then given to my Emma by Kathy thinking it was hers.
Em gave it back to me and so it ended up on my bench for me to blog for an owner, then ended up in the box.
Anyway long story short does anyone know Emma that lost a card from Fina and Dad? if so she will want this card back so tell her to call us.
I have no idea what to do with all the other stuff and feel like just putting it in the bin, but I know I won't.

LIBERTY CUSHIONS & OTHER STUFF
Sorry I have been so quiet lately, no excuse really just slack.
I am back in the shop three to four days again and it is nice to catch up on jobs that there is never enough time to do. Styling being one of them, this is one of my favourite jobs so I will put it before most things (not customers) Next I will get on to getting some new patterns made up and some freebies of past patterns that are archived.
Anyway today's photo's are of my new front window display (hard to photograph) with 60cm Liberty cushions that Effie made up for me. Effie will make up any size cushions to order from our fabrics and it cost $25 (no piping)
Also yesterday's flower purchase from the market, it was hard to pass these white single chrysanthemums.

NEW CARDS
My Incredibly talented daughter Emma has designed some great new cards for Patchwork. Em is a Fashion designer but is working for me at the moment at Scarlet and Freelancing while she waits for her first baby. Check out her blog here.
It was so hard to pick one so I got three different ones that she designed, and left one for spare.
Maybe a future Frankie ad. Hope you like them as much as I do.

BACK AGAIN
I feel like I have been away all this year and can not believe it, it is nearly winter.
I am now back after my trip to Perth to see Mum after she broke her hip. Unfortunately it is an epidemic as she was surrounded by women of the same age that had done the same. Luckily she is on the mend and has a very supportive family. I am hoping she will be OK to fly in a couple of months, so she can spend some time with me and see our new family additions.
I am very fortunate to soon become a Grandmother X 2, we are so happy as both our girls are expecting babies in June and July. So Mum is very excited too and hopes to visit when they are born.
Meanwhile I am back at the shop and there are so many new fabrics that have come in. I particularly love the Nani Iro and hope to get busy and make some blankets with them by just hemming them.

I will leave you with a photo of Mum in the hospital.
